FAQs
Why a dietitian?
Dietitians are registered healthcare professionals who are qualified to assess, diagnose and treat nutritional problems. Dietitians are regulated by law, and governed by an ethical code to ensure that we always work to the highest standard. This means that you get the latest evidence-based information and guidance.
As a dietitian, I aim to use nutrition in both prevention and treatment of health problems related to diet.
How can you help me?
I can help you find a way of eating that fits with your lifestyle and health concerns, decreases symptoms you experience and guides you towards your goals. I offer you a holistic view of steps you can take to improve your health, without picking up a diet plan or following an unnecessarily restrictive diet.
Helping people understand how they can feel better and live healthier by making changes to their diet is an absolute passion and privilege. My overall aim is to help you find a way of eating that works for you long term; leaving you satisfied, feeling your best and meeting your nutritional needs.
How long are the appointments?
A first appointment is usually around 60 minutes, and review appointments 30 minutes.
Allow longer for bariatric surgery consultations; usually 90 minutes for a first appointment and 60 minutes for reviews.
Is it possible to arrange a face to face appointment?
Face to face appointments are available but will be subject to a different fee and deposit.
Do I need to keep a food diary?
It’s not necessary. However, for certain conditions it may be beneficial and in these cases I will advise you to keep a food diary ahead of our appointment.
Will you design me a meal plan?
While meal plans can offer short-term structure, they often don’t lead to sustainable results. Meal plans can feel restrictive and don’t teach the skills needed to make informed, flexible food choices in real-life situations.
True, meaningful change takes time. My appointment packages are designed so that you can benefit from long-term support and dedicated time to reflect and learn.
How do I pay?
I ask for BACS payment at least 24 hours ahead of your virtual appointment to confirm attendance. For face to face appointments, it is possible to pay with cash.
Packages must be paid for in full at time of first appointment.
Can I claim consultation costs on my private medical insurance?
I am not registered with any insurance providers at present. However, I can provide an invoice if required. Please check with your insurance provider.
What is your cancellation policy?
Should you need to cancel your virtual appointment, I require at least 24 hours notice. If appointments are cancelled with less than 12 hours notice, or you do not attend, you may be subject to a fee.
A non-refundable £25 deposit will be taken for any face-to-face appointments at the time of booking.
Do you offer refunds?
I am unable to offer refunds once your treatment has commenced.
